Bally’s launches as 20th Pennsylvania online casino

Bally Casino informed PlayPennsylvania it has been “fully live” in PA since June 8, after conducting a three-day soft launch. A Bally spokesperson said there is no release or statement made by the company.

The new online casino offers games such as Bally Daily Picks, a free game bettors can play to win daily prizes. Players can also win Bally Rewards, where customers can earn Bally Bucks for playing online casino games and a range of promotions.

Bally Casino provides 212 games in total, including slot and table games. Upon logging into the casino, eight games are at the top of the screen in a section named “Suggested For You.” Those games include:

American Roulette
Cleopatra
Cash Eruption
Atomic Meltdown
88 Fortunes
Blackjack Multihand With Surrender
First Person Blackjack
Bonanza

Bally Casino also supplies PA live dealer games through its partnership with Evolution Gaming.

The operator then lists other popular games in slideshows throughout the page. As PlayPennsylvania detailed the homepage of several PA online casinos, Bally sections off its games with the following categories:

Trending
New Games
Jackpots
Top Slots
Top Table Games

Bally’s path to PA online casino market

Bally Casino is the second platform in Pennsylvania to launch without a retail casino partner. PlayLive! Casino is the only other online platform to launch before its land-based counterpart opened.

Bally’s is facing a similar scenario to PlayLive! Casino, as Live! Casino Philadelphia opened months after the launch of its online app. Bally’s retail casino near Penn State’s campus is in the midst of a series of lawsuits, which has no effect on Bally as an iGaming operator in Pennsylvania.

Bally’s applied for an online casino license through a petition as a Qualified Gaming Entity (QGE) on January 3.

On March 22, the PGCB granted Bally Casino’s petition to launch in the Keystone State.

Pennsylvania casino industry isn’t done growing

With the launch, there are 20 online casinos in PA. It’ll be tough for the state to catch New Jersey, though, which features 32 different platforms.

Bally’s is entering a competitive space as Tropicana Casino launched in late April. More online casinos appear to be coming, too.

Bet365 has been expanding rapidly in the US since the start of 2023. Its sportsbook launched in Iowa last month, with plans of both platforms coming to the Keystone State soon. The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) laid out the steps bet365 needs to complete before entering the PA market.

Fanatics also snagged a slice of the PA pie after acquiring PointsBet’s US assets last month for $225 million. When Fanatics enters the PA fray, it will take over PointsBet’s operations, so it won’t necessarily be a new online casino. However, it will likely make more of an effort to gain market share.

Here are some other operators that are poised to enter Pennsylvania soon with an approved license:

WynnBet Casino
Golden Nugget Casino
